As a service to the law school community, CHRJ operates a bookstore co-op, located in room 137 of Gates Hall. We sell low-priced, new and used casebooks and legal study aids. Students may donate or consign their books to the bookstore during office hours. All proceeds fund law students’ human rights work through Public Interest Law Association (PILA) grants.

Book Donations and Consignment
To donate books please drop them off during our regular hours or email the Bookstore Manager to set up an appointment.

To consign books, students must fill out and return this consignment form (click here). This form will list the price at which you would like to sell the material, and after the books is sold, CHRJ will mail you a check for half of the sales price. The other half is deposited in CHRJ’s PILA grant fund. Consignment checks are mailed quarterly.

  1. I’ve filled out the consignment form and have a box of books to hand over to the CHRJ bookstore. I can make a trip to campus on Thursday 6/3, but not until mid-afternoon. Will someone be around to take my books?

Alternatively, I could drop these off Thu 6/10 late morning.

    • Sorry for the delayed response. If this no longer applies, please ignore this, but the CHRJ bookstore is open Mondays through Thursdays from 12:30- 1:20 p.m. Should you need an alternate arrangement, you can always contact CHRJ at Thank you.

  2. Hey All,
I bought a cut copy of Ethical Problems in the Practice of Law at the beginning of the quarter. I realized this week that it is missing the final pages after 863. Because it also has duplicates of pages 831-62, I doubt that this is the fault of the previous owner. Anyway, if any other purchasers of this book report extra or missing pages, let me know–maybe we can do a swap!

    • Sorry for the inconvenience. Sometimes publishing companies make silly errors. You can always bring your book back to the CHRJ bookstore to see if there are any left to make a swap. The bookstore is open Mondays through Thursdays at lunch from 12:30 – 1:20 p.m.

  3. Hello. I am an attorney who has practiced law in Ohio and the Commonwealth of Kentucky for nearly 15 years. Recently, my book titled “A Bone For Geneva: A Book of Dog Treat Recipes” which incorporates principles of United Nations international human rights laws and treaties, and quotes from famous human rights leaders, has been published in the United States by Publish America.

I am inquiring in your bookstore’s interest in placing my book on your shelves for sale.

If this proposal interests you, I would be happy to forward a copyright protected manuscript in WORD format for your review, and you are welcome to look for the book within the next few months on the Publish America website.

    Best regards,

    • Ms. Hardy,

We appreciate your offer. However, the CHRJ bookstore only sells second hand textbooks and supplements that are donated or consigned by students.
